How do I join the Dayton Area Homemakers Swap?

Select "Join Our Homemakers Community Now!" at the top of the page. It will take you directly to our official Facebook group.

What kinds of items can be swapped at monthly meetings?

You can bring anything homemade. Please do not bring items purchased directly from the store. Items are not limited to food. If you sew, knit, crochet, or repurpose, you are greatly encouraged to join!

What if I am unable to attend after committing to bring an item to swap?

Mistakes and emergencies are a part of life, unfortunately. In an effort to recognize the value in everyone's time and efforts, a 2-strike rule will be enforced. If you fail to attend 2 consecutive swaps, you will be removed from the group and all communications. No more than 3 nonconsecutive no-shows will be permitted. If you are unable to attend, it is encouraged to try to find another member who can bring your items and collect your goodies on your behalf.

Can I attend an event before deciding what to make?

Absolutely! We encourage potential members who may be intimidated to attend one swap meet as a guest to gain encouragement and ideas on what kinds of beginner friendly items they can begin making at home. Please note that only those who brought homemade goods to swap receive homemade goods in return. If you don't bring anything, you aren't entitled to receive anything.

How often do swap meets occur?

Swap meets are held monthly. Members can choose to receive details on future swap dates, and other group communications via email. Subscribe to our mailing list below! You may also choose to receive event notifications via text message, by selecting, "Join the Next Swap" above.

What happens to items that are not swapped at the end of an event?

Any items not taken by members may be shared with passersby, other members, or those joining for encouragement. You're welcome to take your extra items home with you, as well.
